WHY
FIBER?
There are
many reasons why you need to increase the amount of fiber
in your daily diet. “Americans with a sensible diet
receive 8-13 grams of daily fiber . Many medical
practitioners recommend we double or triple
our intake to live healthier and longer lives”.
But if you are like most Americans who have a
hectic lifestyle you are probably getting less then the
recommended amount which is 25-35gms a day.
Take the test and add up the amount of fiber you
get on a daily basis.
Read the food labels! “A
broad public health approach to lowered cholesterol levels
by additional diet by modification such as with soluble
fiber, may be preferred to a medically oriented campaign
that focuses of drug therapy “
The Journal of the American Medical Association,
1988 What
fiber does to you: A high-fiber diet pays off with
better health. Studies show that fiber may protect against
heart disease and diabetes and may have other health
benefits as well ·
Lowers serum cholesterol -
soaks up LDL cholesterol for easy elimination ·
Reduces fat absorption -
fat “associates” to fiber, making it
unavailable for digestion ·
Speeds transit times -
prevents toxin buildup and re absorption into your
system ·
Acts as a bulking agent -
absorbs water and toxins in the colon for easy
elimination ·
Reduces blood sugar swings -
important for people with either too high or low
levels ·
Increases intestinal flora growth -
prevents the buildup of disease causing bacteria ·
Reduces Acid Reflux A
high fiber diet benefits you by reducing fat absorption
and providing weight loss. Fiber also helps in preventing
the following conditions and diseases: Appendicitis
- hiatus
hernia - breast cancer - hypertension and stroke - candida
infection - high cholesterol - irritable bowel -
colon and colorectal cancer - gastrointestinal tolerance-
constipation - prostate cancer - coronary heart disease
– ulcers – IBS – diabetes - varicose veins-
diverticular diseases -
menstruation problems – gallstones –
hemorrhoids (1Kamen, Betty, Ph.D. New Facts
About Fiber. 1991) “We
found that by doubling the amount of fiber in a diet that
is similar to our western diet, you can significantly
reduce the amount of breast cancer” Journal
of the National Cancer Institute,1989 “The
approach to breast cancer prevention should include an
increase in fiber consumption to 25 to 30 grams per day”
Medical
Oncology & Tumor Parmacotherapy, 1990 “Dietary fiber decreases
colon cancer risk” American
Journal of Epidemiology, 1989
“Fiber
from grains consumed during early teenage years results in
decreasing the chances of breast cancer in adult women” Cancer
Research, 1989 A high
intake of dietary fiber, particularly of the soluble type,
above the level recommended by the ADA (25-35gm/day),
improves glycemic control, decreases hyperinsulinemia, and
lowers plasma lipid concentrations in patients with type 2
diabetes. In an editorial in the N Engl J Med, Dr. Marc
Rendell of the Creighton Diabetes Center in Omaha,
Nebraska said : “the improvements in the volunteers
eating the high-fiber diet were similar
to what patients would see if they took a second
anti-diabetes pill.
“It would be more desirable first to take full
advantage of the improvements that can be attained by
dietary modification than by taking another drug” (N
Engl J Med 2000;342:1392-8.) For
people with diabetes, soluble fiber helps to delay the
absorption of glucose from our foods, thereby reducing
blood sugars after a meal.
This provides less stress on the pancreas to
produce insulin. BiosLife2
features a proprietary matrix of soluble and insoluble
fibers and has 2 US patents for the “Method and
Composition for Reducing Serum Cholesterol.” To view the Diabetes In Control Abstract study for patients with Type 2 diabetes click below To view the abstract: The Lowering Of Serum Cholesterol With a Patented Dietary Fiber Supplement Click Here
